Standing Committees Information
Synopsis of Standing Committees
​
There are many opportunities to support the mission of the Jackson Tennessee Chapter and to strengthen the ties of chapter members, the community, and the university. We invite all chapter members to join at least one of the Standing Committees which are listed below. Becoming an active member allows you to use your expertise and skillset to move the chapter forward.

Membership Committee
This committee is responsible for fostering ways and means to increase the chapter membership on an ongoing basis.
Scholarship Committee
This committee is responsible for developing and/or updating local scholarship guidelines and information for graduating seniors from Jackson-Madison County Schools who live in Madison County and have been accepted to TSU. This committee works closely with the Student Relations Committee.
Fundraising Committee
This committee is responsible for researching, brainstorming, and recommending annual revenue-producing initiatives that will safeguard the financial stability of the chapter.
Student Relations Committee
This committee is responsible for identifying and developing opportunities to market the university and recruit students from the Jackson-Madison County School System and is responsible for keeping a database on all students from Jackson-Madison Co. who are currently enrolled at the university. The committee works closely with the Scholarship Committee.
Auditing Committee
This committee is responsible for conducting an annual audit of all financial records including bank statements, vouchers, national and local membership dues, fundraising donations, and expenditures.

Care & Compassion Committee
This committee is responsible for coordinating established protocol regarding courtesies upon notification of an illness, hospitalization, or death of a member, or their immediate family.
Technology & Communications Committee
This committee is responsible for developing and maintaining a chapter website, Facebook page, and marketing the chapter as appropriate by utilizing all appropriate media platforms.
