Membership

Membership is an ongoing goal of the Jackson Tennessee Chapter Tennessee State University National Alumni Association. We welcome you to join us and become an ambassador to our great HBCU in Big Blue Country … the Land of Golden Sunshine by the Cumberland’s Fertile Shore. Membership is open to all individuals who would like to support Tennessee State. Membership categories are as follows:

 

Regular Member

Any person who holds a degree granted by Tennessee State University or its predecessor, and anyone who has been officially enrolled at the University, attended classes but did not finish, and is not currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student. 

 

Associate Member 

Any person who manifests a genuine interest in Tennessee State University and supports the goals and chapter projects which will strengthen the ties between members, chapters, communities and the university. 

Life Member

Any person eligible for chapter membership may become a Life Member of the National Association, providing life membership requirements have been met.

 

Complimentary Member

This membership is granted to all graduating undergraduate and graduate students for one year following receipt of their degree if they do not hold membership in our local alumni chapter or any other TSU Alumni Chapter. They must reside in Jackson, TN upon graduation. 

 

Sustaining Membership 

This membership is open to all Regular, Associate, and Life Members who elect to contribute $50.00 or more upon joining or renewing their membership and want to increase the percentage of alumni giving by supporting our Endowed Alumni Chapter Scholarship which has been established through the TSU Foundation.

The fiscal year is from July 1 to June 30 the following year. We encourage all new and returning members to pay their dues between July 1 and September 1 of each fiscal year. Dues paid after January 31 will go toward the next fiscal year. 

 

National dues are $30  

Local dues are $35

Life membership is $750

 

Life membership may be paid online (www.tsualumnionline.org) over a 12-month period. A PayPal fee will apply. Thereafter, a Life Member would only pay local dues annually.

There are many opportunities to support the mission of the Jackson Tennessee Chapter and to strengthen the ties of chapter members, the community, and the university. We invite all chapter members to join at least one of the Standing Committees. Becoming an active member allows you to use your expertise and skill-set to move the chapter forward.
